Tales of how far people will go to get Mrs. Fisher's Chips

Bill Byrnes
I grew up in Rockford & used to deliver newspapers to the owner's of Mrs. Fisher's. They used to give me a free bag of their chips all the time. That was my first exposure to these great chips. That was back in 1975, so I am not sure if the ownership has changed since then, but the chips sure haven't! Then I remember the weekly trips with my dad to fill our 1 pound containers with you fresh, sometimes warm chips! I joined the Marine Corps in 1981 and was stationed in El Toro, CA. I remember placing orders or 20 to 25 tubs of chips on more than 1 occasion. The employees at both Mrs. Fisher's and UPS must have hated me back then. I am very pleased to see Mrs. Fisher's on the web. I used to mail a check for those large purchases of the past & the turnaround to get the chips seemed like it took forever. I am pleased to say my last experience only took a week to get my chips here on Buena Park, CA. Great job Mrs. Fisher's associates!!!

I grew up on Mrs. Fisher's; that is until my family moved to Texas in 1978. Relatives would always ship a box down for Christmas and special occassions and whenever any of us returns to Rockford for a visit, Mrs. Fisher's is a mandatory stop. However, each visit requires a larger order as we've managed to "recruit" a rather large following down here.

Thanks for bringing a touch of my childhood closer than ever.

Recently, I stopped at a supermarket in Rockford, IL. A clerk suggested I purchase a bag of your chips. Normally I purchase another brand.

I brought the chips home and served them at a party. Everyone stated how great they were. You made a believer out of me. Problem is, no one in DePere, WI sells your brand. I get to Rockford on occasion and will purchase them again at that time. Seems wrong that the rest of my area can't enjoy your products.

Thanks again for the great product.

My family grew up on Mrs. Fisher's chips. When my parents moved to Rockford in the early 60's they were hooked on Mrs. Fisher's. Later on my mom had jaw surgery and had to have her jaws shut for 6 weeks. She said the first thing she was going to indulge in after the wires were removed was Mrs. Fisher's. Now they have moved back to their hometown after retirement. When they come back to Rockford for a visit... the first place they stop at is the grocery store to grab a big 1# bag of Mrs. Fisher's chips. And when I go to visit them...the last stop out of town is to grab a bag of Mrs. Fisher's to take to them.

It is nice to see a product that has no need to do the "New and Improved" thing. Mrs. Fisher's chips doesn't need to improve. They are PERFECT the way they are!

Linda Goodpasture
My name is Linda Goodpasture and I live in Atchinson, KS. I born in Rockford and grew up in Loves Park, IL and moved to Kansas in 1976. My mother came from Chisholm, MN for nurses training at St. Anthony's hospital in 1943. She and her nursing friends had to eat the hospital cafeteria food which was not to great at that time! She used to tell us kids that her favorite thing to do would be to go across the street to a little corner grocery store and buy a bag of Mrs. Fisher's chips and a pint of ice cream! Oh she said it was heavenly! She made all of us (we had 7 children in pur family!) lovers of Fisher's chips! I have two sisters who also live in Kansas and whenever we come back to Rockford we bring back lots of bags of chips! There are no chips around here that can compare to Mrs. Fisher's!! When we come back to Rockford, we have our sister there send us bags! My mother and father have passed away but we will always have a fond memory of her little story about the starving nurses who feasted on Mrs. Fisher's chips to get them through nurses training!!

I remember as a child going to Mrs. Fishers after swimming at the 10th Ave swimming pool and buying a bag of "crumbs" for 1 cent. I moved from Rockford many years ago but have never lost my love for Mrs. Fishers. My kids and co-workers are always asking for more. I'm glad to see you are online to make my ordering easier.

Dave & Tracy Hobart
Las Vegas, NV
"We could eat a giant tub a week." Dave and Tracy Hobart moved from Rockford to Las Vegas, NV over three years ago.

Every few months the couple has to have a shipment of Mrs. Fisher’s sent by Dave’s mother via Fed Ex. Dave says, "Now if we could only get a shipment of Muller Pinehurst French Onion Dip to arrive with the chips. The two are incredible together."

I was spending the New Year with my, not known then, fiance, in Dallas Texas, he was so excited that his sister came to spend the new year with us. In the midst of the proposal taking place, he was so nervious that he ate some of your chips, and said to me, Liz, these are the best chips in the world, will you marry me, now coming in second to your chips, I guess I would have to say that the ends of the earth, or Dallas, Texas, and your chips are imbedded in my head for life. I will never forget this, as we have it on Video.

Growing up in Rockford, Mrs. Fisher's chips were a main course during my teens. Don't tell the folks. While serving in the Air Force my sister would send some on a regular basis. While in Korea, I recieved a Christmas Package and talk about a rememberance of home, Mrs. Fisher's chips. Just this year, 2002, I had the pleasure of meeting a young Captain, who's from Rockford as well. We chatted only to find out that we both loved Mrs. Fisher's. She recently went back to Rockford and upon her return, presented me with 3 large bags of Mrs. Fisher's. STILL TASTES THE SAME, GREAT!"

Well where to begin.I was raised on Fishers. It was in the 60's that both my mother and father made them when you were on 7th Street I belive. My parents would bring them home as fast as we could eat them. So I have been eating them all my life.

I now live in Mountain Home Arkansas where people look at you and say whats the big deal about a chip. Well I had to get some the next trip to Rockford just so they could try them. And yes they are hooked. :) They love them. And now it is so great that I can order them and have them any time I want. Thanks so much for continuing a great product.

I first had Mrs Fishrs chips about 10 years ago when I came to visit my now Mother and Father in law. Ever since then I have been hooked!!!!!! My husband highly suggests a 12 step program for me (ha ha). My wonderful mother-in-law over the years has sent me cases of chips and I have reluctantly shared them with others. There are no other chips like them anywhere. I am so excited that you finally have a website because it just makes that much easier to order the worlds best potato chip.

Sincerely,
Michelle Nicholas

Hi everyone: This is Joe Delia from southern California excited about your company having a web site so now we can order Mrs. Fisher's Potatoe Chips out here in southern California. My mother, Gerry Delia, always brings us Mrs. Fisher's when she visits Rockford.

My father Joe Delia worked with Mr. Paul Diventi at Ingersoll. We use to give Mr.Diventi a ride home when I was very young. Just to inform you, I have a business out here and I have used Mrs. Fishers for my snacks and the people out here love them. I am going to pass on your website to many of them and tell them you can now order them on line.

First of all, what a wonderful website. I can almost taste it. I grew up in Rockford in the 40's and 50's and left to go to MA to college, never to move back. When my parents met me at O'Hare, I insisted they bring a huge bag of Mrs. Fisher's, just to get me home. I would have them for breakfast the next day. When I couldn't get home, I would beg my mom to send me a huge box full for Christmas or birthdays. Recently I have begged my sister to send me the large container whenever possible. She discovered that they can be frozen. I found that hard to believe, but it is true. They are unbelievable right out of the freezer. Recently I tried to convince my neightborhood store to stock them, converting them with free samples. I considered being an outlet for them myself for a time since all my friends are now hooked. My kids tease me about this fanatical passion, but recently my son begged me to send him a batch because "it wouldn't be Christmas without Mrs. Fisher's" in California. When we sit around and consider what we would have to take with us into the next life, everyone looks at me and says in unison: "Mrs. Fisher's"

Mrs. Fisher's are Mom, Home and certainly Heaven.
